05 / Beyond the podium

A musician.
A mentor. A maker.

The voice of the trumpet

Jakov’s performing career spans opera, ballet, orchestral and chamber music. A freelance trumpeter with CNT Split from 2014 to 2019, he performed in productions including Turandot and Aida, as well as symphonic and festival programmes. From 2018 to 2023, he served with the Croatian Armed Forces Orchestra.

His experience includes recitals with organ, academy jazz and symphonic projects, Zagreb Classic and collaborations with the US Navy Band.

Teaching that becomes music

At music schools in Imotski and Split, Jakov has mentored prize-winning trumpet students, chamber groups, orchestras and young composers. He connects student composition with ensemble performance and explores Suzuki, Orff and NTC approaches to music learning.

His professional work includes brass-teacher conferences, arranging lectures, competition jury and organisational roles, and the Erasmus+ projects European Youth Orchestra and Brass Connect in Luxembourg and France.

From idea to performance

As an arranger and producer, he works with mixed choir, organ, string and wind orchestras, brass, percussion and soloists. His projects include opera stage music for CNT Split, Future Philharmonic, a scene in the Hollywood film Bliss and Unica Harmonia’s album Zraka svjetla.

Through Innovibe, founded in 2026, this practice continues in the organisation and production of classical and stage music.
